With filming underway on the Agatha Christie classic Murder on the Orient Express, ITV has announced details of the cast joining star David Suchet in the much loved Poirot mystery.
Dame Eileen Atkins, Hugh Bonneville, Barbara Hershey, Toby Jones, David Morrissey, Elaina Satine and Samuel West are just some of the familiar faces set to join Poirot aboard the the famous luxury train.
David Suchet says: “It’s an honour to have such a wonderful international cast on board for this world famous murder mystery. Writer, Stewart Harcourt, has created an exquisite script. His attention to detail is impeccable.”
The story sees Poirot investigating the death of fellow passenger Samuel Ratchett (Toby Jones), just hours before his death Ratchett offered Poirot ten thousand dollars to watch his back, an offer Poirot refuses.
When he awakes the following morning to find the train stuck in a snowdrift and Ratchett dead in his compartment, Poirot sets out to find the killer.
Adapted by Stewart Harcourt (Agatha Christie’s Marple, Dracula) and produced by Karen Thrussell (Agatha Christie’s Marple), Murder on the Orient Express will be filmed on location in Malta and London.
