Netflix to premiere Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon sequel

BTS0522.CR2Movie and TV streaming service Netflix has signed a deal to premiere Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: The Green Legend, a sequel to Ang Lee’s acclaimed martial arts epic.

The film, which is produced by The Weinstein Company, will be available to subscribers from 28th August 2015. It will also be screened in selected IMAX cinemas.

The film is said to echoes the themes of the original film while telling a new story of young love, a legendary sword and one last opportunity at redemption.

Michelle Yeoh reprises her role as Yu Shu-Lien alongside Donnie Yen.

Netflix says the film is the first of several it will premiere.
