The Telegraph newspaper reports that the Premier League could bring forward the next set of TV rights auctions in a bid to capitalise on the growing rivalry between BT and Sky.
BT made a surprise entry into the world of sports broadcasting when it won 2 Premier League packages in 2012 of the current and next two seasons.
Since then it and Sky have been locked in competition for major sports rights.
Last year the newcomer agreed a three year deal with UEFA which gave it exclusive rights to the Champions League and Europa League from the 2015/16 season.
According to the Telegraph , the Premier League could hold the next auction as early as this December rather than next year as previously expected.
