Phone and broadband regulator Ofcom has published a new guide to help consumers get their most from their broadband connections.
Tips include how to use reputable speed-checking websites to measure your connection, checking for interference from domestic electrical devices, and upgrading your router.
There’s also advice on the Code of Practice ISPs sign up to promising to give customers information on their estimated speeds range in writing at the start of a contract and allowing customers to end contracts without penalty if speeds are significantly below that original estimate.
The guide can be downloaded from Ofcom’s consumer website.
