The Pet Shop Boys have compared their latest album, now available to pre-order from Amazon.co.uk, to Madonna’s early work.
“The album is meant to be pure enjoyment,” Neil Tennant told Time Out. “We realised that it was sounding quite early ’80s dance, like Madonna’s first album.
“This album has got that ’80s freshness but it still sounds, you know, modern.”
The nine track album Electric was executive produced by Stuart Price, who helmed Madonna’s 2005 album Confessions on a Dancefloor.
Released on July 15th, the album is the first Tennant and band mate Chris Lowe have released through their own label x2 Records. Pre-order your copy today.
