Peter Davison has been confirmed as host of the Doctor Who Symphonic Spectacular’s UK tour.

The show combines live music alongside in-arena appearances by the show’s various foes and monsters and clips from the series and has already played to sell-out crowds in Australia and New Zealand.

Conducted by Ben Foster, it features over 100 performers including members of the BBC National Chorus of Wales.

Davison, who played the Doctor for three years in the 1980’s, served as host at both earlier tours and said he was “very excited” to return for the UK run.

The actor said: “Doctor Who fans are an extraordinary, wonderful bunch, who are very passionate about the series.

“The Symphonic Spectacular has already proved to be a monster hit down under with thousands of fans packing into arenas across the southern hemisphere and the UK’s first ever tour promises to be even bigger.”
