Users of YouView, the connected set top box service co-owned by BT, ITV, the BBC and TalkTalk, are are losing access to Discovery Networks’ Quest catchup player.
First launched in October 2014, the player was integrated into YouView’s backwards EPG and allowed users to easily access shows they’d missed.
It will be removed from the service on 9th October after which any viewers wishing to access the channel’s programmes on-demand will need to download one of its recently launchd smartphone or tablet apps.
A Discovery Networks spokesman said: “You can continue to watch Quest and Quest +1 on YouView live and recorded.
“However, from 9th October for Quest On Demand you will need to go to QuestTV.co.uk to catch up on all our top shows on any device, at any time.
No reason for the service’s removal has been given by YouView or Discovery Networks.
