BBC One’s New Tricks – in which a team of retired former Detectives investigate unsolved cases – achieved its largest audience for the past three years when it returned this week for a new run.
8.3 million viewers tuned in to see the team opening the files on the death of a senior palaeontologist at the Natural History Museum.
The show – now in its eighth series – is a regular ratings puller for BBC One and stars Dennis Waterman, Alun Armstrong, James Bolam and Amanda Redman.
