Sky Atlantic bags Dennis Quaid’s Vegas

sky_logoSky Atlantic HD is to air the UK premiere of Vegas, the new drama from Academy Award-nominated Nicholas Pileggi and Greg Walker which stars Dennis Quaid and Michael Chiklis.

Vegas is inspired by the true story of former Las Vegas Sheriff Ralph Lamb, a fourth-generation rancher tasked with bringing order to the city in the 1960s.
Las Vegas is swelling with outsiders and corruption as the gambling and entertainment mecca is emerging from the tumbleweeds.

Lamb (Quaid) is looking into the murder of a casino work and comes across Vincent Savino (Chiklis), a ruthless Chicago gangster who plans to make Vegas his own. The two become engaged in a fierce battle for control of the budding oasis and, for both, folding is not an option.

The series also stars Jason O’Mara (Terra Nova) as Lamb’s brother, Jack, and Taylor Handley (The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning) as his son, Dixon. Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix) plays the ambitious Assistant District Attorney, Katherine O’Connell. Sarah Jones (Alcatraz) joins the cast in the second episode as Mia Rizzo, count room manager at Savino’s casino and daughter of a Chicago mob boss.

The show will launch in February on Sky Atlantic HD, Sky Atlantic + 1, and will also be available via Sky Go and On Demand.
