Sky’s Mount Pleasant to return for second series

October 14, 2011 - Staff@seenituk

Sky has announced the recommission of its comedy drama Mount Pleasant.

Set in Manchester, the series follows the work and personal lives of Lisa (Sally Lindsay) and Dan (Daniel Ryan), their friends and families.

The first run attracted audiences of around 1.3m and was Sky One’s first comedy drama commission.

Head of comedy Lucy Lumsden has ordered a new 9-part series and a Christmas special.

Also returning for the second series are comedy veteran Bobby Ball, Pauline Collins (Upstairs Downstairs, Shirley Valentine), Angela Griffin(Waterloo Road, Hustle), Paula Wilcox (Man About The House, A Touch of Frost), Sian Reeves (Cutting It, Emmerdale), Adrian Bower (Teachers), Neil Fitzmaurice (Peepshow, Phoenix Nights), Owen McDonnell (Single Handed) and Ainsley Howard.

Announcing the show’s return, Lumsden commented: “The first series of Mount Pleasant has been an absolute joy to work on and has really connected with an audience.

“I’m thrilled for the entire team and can’t wait for our customers to see what they have in store for the second series.”
