The film, which is now in production and is being shot entirely in 3D, stars Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-man.
The film is the first in a rebooted timeline which sets aside the three Toby Maguire films sees Parker develop his spidey skills while in high school.
It also stars Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Martin Sheen, and Sally Field.
Directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt and Alvin Sargent and Steve Kloves, The Amazing Spider-man will be released in the UK on July 4th, 2012.
