“No protectors here. No Lanterns. No Kryptonians. This world will fall, like all the others.”
The trailer of Justice League in the San Diego Comic-Con has sparked many fan theories and speculations, as we all wonder how the story will unfold. Warner Bros. and DC Comics have taken great pains to make sure that the plot of the movie is not revealed.
Justice League franchise has been a huge success bringing in millions in box office revenues and merchandising so far – there is even a Justice league slot game. However, the upcoming instalment that fans are waiting eagerly for is set to be the biggest success yet.
Apart from the pictures posted by the cast and crew on social media, we know nothing. Will Darkseid make an appearance? Will we see Green Lantern? Are Amazonians in danger? And the million-dollar question – “Is Superman coming back?”
As the release date of Justice League comes near, a legion of assumptions has taken over the Internet. While you wait for the most awaited superhero movie of the year, here’s everything we know (Spoiler Alert!) and expect from the upcoming DC Comics hit.
We know that Batman (Ben Affleck) and Diana Prince, aka Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), assemble the league with Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Cyborg (Ray Fisher) and Flash (Ezra Miller). While Batman and Diana Prince have proven their incredible team skills in Dawn of Justice, it would be interesting to see how the rest of the league shares the screen.
The cast of the movie has been announced, and it is clear that Ciaran Hinds (“GoT’s King Beyond the Wall” Mance Rayder) is joining the DC Universe as Steppenwolf. This means that Darkseid is making a move on the three “Mother Boxes”. So, be prepared to see the army of Parademons raiding Amazon and Atlantis in order to acquire the Mother Boxes for Steppenwolf.
Since Dawn of Justice ended with Lex Luthor (Jesse Eisenberg) mentioning the apocalyptic prophecy, it can be easily assumed that he will swear his allegiance to Steppenwolf in the fight against the heroes.
Is Superman coming back?
With the death of Superman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, we all have been curious to know if Henry Cavill will come back on the screen in Justice League. And we hope it’s not just in flashbacks. The San Diego Comic-Con trailer ends with Alfred saying “He said you’d come. Now let’s hope you’re not too late.”
This could indicate that Superman shows up during the final battle and joins the team to fight against Steppenwolf. But, it is equally possible that the person Alfred is talking to could be Green Lantern or even Martian Manhunter. Warner Bros. can even surprise us all by introducing Shazam (yes, he can come back, now that Superman’s dead) in the DC Universe.
The Batmobile Returns
You can’t expect Justice League movie not to have a jaw-dropping, super equipped Batmobile, right? Director Zack Snyder posted a photo of the brand new Batmobile, and we think it will feature in the movie. Well, it doesn’t really look fancy and posh like the previous versions, but it sure seems to be designed to take on the evil army sent by Darkseid.
With just a few weeks left before Justice League hits the theatres, excitement amongst the fans of DC Universe is at its peak. Whatever happens, one thing is for certain: the age of heroes is finally here!
