76 years ago Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers starred in one of the most enduring musical films of all time – Top Hat.
The movie (thanks to Irving Berlin) gave the world the classic song Top Hat, White Tie and Tails which has gone on to form the backdrop to countless comedy sketches and variety performances.
For the past few months regional theatre audiences have been able to re-live the story of Broadway sensation Jerry Travers who dances his way across Europe to win the love of society model Dale Tremont.
The production has been getting rave reviews and is transferring to the West End next year with Holby City star Tom Chambers playing Jerry and Summer Strallen as Dale.
Previews begin 19th April 2012 at the Aldwych Theatre and tickets are on sale now from the official Top Hat website
