Famed around the world for its hit song Luck Be a Lady, classic musical Guys and Dolls kicks off its UK run at Manchester’s Palace Theatre on November 10th before moving to Birmingham’s New Alexandra Theatre on the 24th and London’s Savoy Theatre on December 10th.
The play tells the story of New York hoodlum Nathan Detroit, a man with a desperate need for money for an illegal dice game and a fiancée whose patience is running out after an epic 14-year wait to tie the knot.
Enter notorious gambler Sky Masterson, a guy who can never turn down a bet, and straight‑laced missionary Sarah Brown, a doll with a heart of ice.
The wager: Sky has to romance Sarah by taking her to Havana for dinner and in return he’ll provide a dozen ‘sinners’ for Sarah’s mission. Surely this is one bet Nathan absolutely can’t lose?
In this great behind the scenes video actor David Haig, who stars as Nathan, visits London’s famous Murdock & Co barbershop where he chats about becoming the character, sings a little and loses his beard!
