YouView announces new catch-up and on demand deal with UKTV

0_UKTV-channels_1YouView users will soon gain access to catch-up and on demand content from UKTV’s popular free-to-air channels Dave, Yesterday and Really.

In July a Dave-branded portal will be added to the YouView on demand menu with content also available via YouView’s scroll back programme guide.

YouView customers will enjoy demand access to hit shows such as Dara O Briain: School of Hard Sums, Ross Noble’s Freewheeling, Dave Gorman’s Modern Life is Goodish, Alexander Armstrong’s Big Ask, Storage Hunters, Lizard Lick Towing, and Russell Howard’s Good News.

Later in the year content from Yesterday and Really will also join the YouView platform.

Although catch-up content from UKTV channels is available on other platforms, the deal with YouView is the UKTV has offered a catch-up purpose-built for TV.

The broadcaster has enjoyed significant growth across its portfolio of channels –
Dave celebrated its second most successful week in the channel’s history last month, averaging a 1.64% share in week 22.

Next month sees the launch of a fourth free-to-air channel, Drama, which UKTV says will showcase “critically-acclaimed shows that have defined the landscape of British television”

UKTV’s CEO, Darren Childs commented “The UKTV network currently reaches over 42 million viewers a month and this agreement with YouView will make our award-winning programmes and channel brands available to even more viewers.

“Providing a catch-up service for our free-to-air channels on YouView is an important step for us, ensuring we give viewers the ‘anytime, anywhere’ access to our channels and programming that they want.”
