Netflix has confirmed it’ll premiere Star Trek: Discovery, the latest incarnation of Gene Roddenberry’s sci-fi franchise, on 25th September.
The streaming service has exclusive global rights to the series outside the U.S. and Canada where it will be available on CBS All Access and Bell Media respectively.
Originally slated for 13 episodes, Netflix and CBS today confirmed this had been boosted to 15.
The series stars Michelle Yeoh as Captain Philippa Georgiou, Sonequa Martin-Green as First Officer Michael Burnham and Jason Isaacs as Gabriel Lorca, Captain of the Discovery and follows the crew as they discover new worlds and new lifeforms and one Starfleet officer learns that to truly understand all things alien, you must first understand yourself.
Star Trek: Discovery is produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Alex Kurtzman’s Secret Hideout, Bryan Fuller’s Living Dead Guy Productions and Roddenberry Entertainment.
Alex Kurtzman, Bryan Fuller, Heather Kadin, Gretchen J. Berg & Aaron Harberts, Akiva Goldsman, Rod Roddenberry and Trevor Roth serve as executive producers.
