YouView and Humax announce all-new set top box

February 14, 2013 - Staff@seenituk

YouView_DTR_T1010Humax has released a second set-top box for YouView, the broadcast and streaming TV service backed by the UK’s biggest broadcasters and ISPs.

Last year the company released the first-ever YouView box alongside the platform’s official launch.

While the original DTR-T1000 device retained the look of Humax’s HDR-Fox T2 Freeview+ HD recorder, the new box boasts an all-new black and silver appearance.

The DTR-T1010 is currently available from John Lewis and will be available from other retailers later this month when it will replace the current model. Both 500GB and 1TB versions are available, with RRPs of £299.99 and £329.99 respectively.

A YouView spokesperson has confirmed that the DTR-T1000 will continue to receive software updates and new features as they became available.

Later this year the platform is expected to add support for streaming live channels, opening the way for more content providers to come on board.
