Provisionally entitled Bruce Forsyth’s Hall Of Fame, the show will be Forsyth’s first since stepping down as host of Strictly Come Dancing earlier this year.
The one-off show will be produced by Kalooki Pictures and Hat Trick co-production for BBC One and overseen by Jimmy Mulville and former Strictly executive, Jane Lush.
Sir Bruce said: “As soon as I heard about this I thought it was a wonderful idea; I can’t help being excited. It will also be great to work with Jane again and with Jimmy.”
Mark Linsey, BBC Controller of Entertainment Commissioning, said: “Bruce is a legend of BBC One Saturday night TV and it’s fantastic news that he’ll be back to host this exciting one-off special for us.”
Jane Lush commented: “I couldn’t be more excited to be working again with Sir Bruce exactly 10 years since we first embarked on the Strictly Come Dancing adventure together.
“And there is no one I would rather have as a co-producing partner than Jimmy Mulville and the brilliant team at Hat Trick.”
Jimmy Mulville added: “It’s such an honour to be working with Sir Bruce again after his classic appearance on Have I Got News For You 10 years ago and a delight to be co-producing with Jane Lush whose small team seem to have the biggest and best ideas!”
