Humax launches new internet connected Freeview+ HD box

hmx007Humax has launched a new internet connected Freeview+ HD box which offers access to BBC iPlayer and YouTube.

Priced at £149.99, the HDR-1800T includes dual tuners so users can watch and record two programmes at the same time, and Humax says the 320GB hard drive can store up to 200 hours of standard definition programmes and 80 in HD.

In addition to the usual range of subscription-free TV and radio channels, the box will be updated later this year to offer access to the internet-delivered VuTV service.

VuTV provides a number of popular pay-TV channels including Nickelodeon and Comedy Central, however limitations in the technology used to deliver the channels means they cannot be recorded.

Users can also send send photos and videos to the TV screen from a PC or laptop using their existing home network.

Graham North, Commercial Director of Humax, commented: “The new style and compact size of the Humax Freeview HDR-1800T makes this new set-top box a discreet yet powerful addition to the living room.

“It’s ideal for those cost-conscious consumers looking for fantastic HD content and recording abilities, all at an affordable price point.”
