A studio tour worthy of the film

The Warner Bros. Harry Potter studio tour is proving to be a hit with fans, young and old alike – thanks in part to its selling point of allowing fans to step inside a world they’ve seen on the big screen.

Such has been the tour’s success that Warner Bros. are considering opening up similar attractions for other film franchises in coming years.

There are several reasons for the success of Harry Potter at Leavesden studios.

Firstly, there’s the fact that much of the films themselves were shot or developed here, so there’s an air of authenticity about the place. This isn’t some prefabricated tourist attraction. This is a working studio where the magic itself was created.

Secondly, Warner Bros. have been very careful to make this as good as they possibly can. When you’re dealing with something so popular and so well loved, it can be easy to get it wrong.

The public really feels a sense of ownership when it comes to Harry Potter that is unusual with film characters. This could have caused a real problem for Warner Bros. but thankfully they have got it spot on.

Thirdly, basing a tour in the UK was a great idea. Although Warner Bros. is an American studio and without doubt much of the money for the whole Harry Potter cinematic venture has come from Hollywood, there is something quintessentially English about Harry.

It would have seemed strange for UK Harry fans to travel to America to step inside a world that recreated Britain. Plus, it’s a lot more convenient too. At less than an hour outside London it’s easy to get to – even if you have young kids.

With the chance to see sets, props, costumes and learn a little about the special effects magic, this is a one-of-a-kind tour and an absolute must for any fan of Harry Potter.

Young and old visitors will be impressed by the scale and effort that has gone into making this studio tour everything it should be – as magical as the books and films themselves.
