Apocalypse Now is getting a definitive director’s release this August

May 27, 2019 - Staff@seenituk

Studiocanal is marking the 40th anniversary of Francis Ford Coppola’s Apocalypse Now with a special, never-before-seen cut restored version of the film overseen by the director himself.

Coming to Blu-ray and 4K Blu-ray on August 26th, Apocalypse Now Final Cut is also getting a cinema and IMAX release on August 13th.

Restored from the original negative for the first time ever, the film is being described as Coppola’s most complete version of his multi-awarded classic – a haunting journey into madness that fascinated generations of movie lovers and now feels even more monumentally alive than ever before.

“The audience will be able to see, hear and feel this film how I always hoped it could be—from the first ‘bang’ to the final whimper” said the film-maker.
