Apple looks set to bolster its iBooks store service after buying book analytics firm BookLamp.
The acquisition will allow the tech giant to improve book recommendations and make it easier for users to discover new content.
Prior to its purchase by Apple, BookLamp provided analytical services and data to a number of publishers and retailers, including Amazon.
“Apple buys smaller technology companies from time to time, and we generally do not discuss our purpose or plans,” Apple said in a statement.
