BBC One is marking the centenary of Frank Sinatra’s birth next year with a special one-off show featuring unknown acts from across the UK performing their own “unique” versions of his songs.

Frank Sinatra: Their Way is being produced by Whizz Kid Entertainment and will pay tribute to the the singer’s influence over the last seven decades.

It’ll also offer one act the prize of performing at a special Sinatra centenary concert to be held in 2015.

Rachel Ashdown for BBC Entertainment said: “Frank Sinatra has an enduring appeal. This show is a celebration not only of some of the greatest songs of all time but also one of the world’s greatest icons.”

Caroline Roseman, Head of Development at Whizz Kid Entertainment, added: “Frank Sinatra: Their Way is a tribute special with a difference and moves us far away from the classic Sinatra impersonators.

“We’re planning to cast very diverse acts from every corner of the UK to illustrate just how timeless and widely loved Frank Sinatra’s music is.’’
