The BBC has launched a new mobile and tablet-friendly website offering users instant access to travel news.
Features include alerts for all road, rail and light rail incidents including underground, metro and tram systems which could disrupt a journey and a new zoomable map.
Use of ‘responsive’ website design means the site will automatically adapt to the users’ screen size, regardless of whether they’re growing on a desktop, laptop, smartphone or tablet.
Karolina Iwaszko, Executive Product Manager for Travel, BBC Future Media, said: “We are thrilled to have launched the new BBC Travel site in time for one of the busiest weekends of the year on the roads and railways.
“Providing users with a simple, easy to use experience has been something we’ve been working hard to get right.”
