BBC One bosses have ordered a second series of Poldark following strong viewing figures for the current run.
The drama series stars Aidan Turner as Ross Poldark and Eleanor Tomlinson as Demelza and has been a firm favourite with the channel’s viewers, drawing audiences of more than 8m.
Fans have also been treated to a guest appearance by Robin Ellis, star of the BBC’s original 1970’s adaptation of Winston Graham’s 18th century Cornish tale.
Other cast members include Jack Farthing as ambitious banker George Warleggan, Kyle Solder as Ross’ cousin Francis Poldark, Phil Davies as Ross’s lazy manservant Jud and Beatie Edney as Jud’s wife Prudie.
The second series is based on Graham’s third and fourth novels and will once again be adapted by Debbie Horsfield.
