BT Sport bosses promise fans “an exciting line-up” of football, boxing and rugby in the months ahead

August 9, 2018 - Staff@seenituk

“An exciting line-up” of football, boxing and rugby will dominate BT Sport’s schedules over the coming months, during which the broadcaster will become the exclusive home of the UEFA Champions League.

Already the contest’s exclusive live broadcaster, BT will also become home of all highlights coverage from the start of the new season which features new ‘double-header’ group stage kick-offs (17.55 and 20.00) for each match night.

The schedule also includes live Premier League matches, increased coverage of the Emirates FA Cup, Scottish football, exclusive coverage of MotoGP, WTA and BT’s remaining coverage of UFC which is moving to rival Eleven Sports from next year.

Fight fans will also be able to enjoy live “top-class” boxing through BT’s tie-up with Frank Warren which includes the “blockbuster” Belfast card on 18 August when Carl Frampton defends his interim WBO world featherweight title and Tyson Fury makes his second heavyweight comeback fight.

And in September the firm will launch its pay per view BT Sport Box Office channel which will offer fans “some of the very best bouts worldwide.”

Rugby fans are also catered for with BT becoming the sole broadcaster of every Heineken Champions Cup match and continuing as the lead broadcaster of the Gallagher Premiership rugby.

Also returning is Rugby Tonight, in which BT Sport’s panel of experts are joined by guests and a studio audience to discuss topical issues each week.

BT Sport is available on the firm’s own BT TV platform, to BT broadband customers via mobile apps and online and to Sky and TalkTalk viewers. Virgin Media subscribers can, as previously announced, now watch coverage in 4K.

EE customers who receive BT Sport as part of their mobile package or as a operate subscription can also cast the channels in HD to their big screen TV.

Simon Green, head of BT Sport, said: “This season is set to be the best yet for BT Sport viewers as we become the home to both the best European football and European club rugby, plus world-title boxing and motorsport.

“Fans will also be able to watch our coverage in more ways than ever, including on ultra-high definition and in virtual reality as we continue to introduce new programming, ways to watch and availability across a wide range of devices and platforms.”
