The next generation of YouView software, which moves to the platform to a cloud-based and image-rich menu experience is being rolled out to BT’s two recording set top boxes.
Unveiled last year, the software has already been downloaded to many TalkTalk supplied boxes and those purchased from retailers, as well as BT’s non-recording zapper boxes.
From tonight, customers with a YouView+ or YouView+ UHD box will also start receiving the new-look software which is being made available as a phased roll-out.
As previously reported, some users have voiced complaints about the updated look and the loss of functions such as the ability to hide channels, but BT and YouView say they’ve also received positive feedback about the upgrade which has spent months in user testing.
YouView has also promised that missing features will be added back in a future update .
