An updated version of BT’s mobile TV app is now available to download for Android and iOS tablet and smartphone users.

The revamped app, which is available for all BT TV customers, carries over the look of BT’s recently upgraded set top box software and allows users to watch subscription channels such as AMC and BT Sport live while on the move.

Customers can also use it to catch up on shows, films, and sporting events via BT’s on-demand library and can resume watching content they started on their set top box from the point they pressed ‘stop’.

The app can also be used to set recordings while away from the home and, potentially hinting at future capabilities, to see which shows have already been recorded.

A web version is also coming, bringing the new look to desktop and laptop computers.

In addition to the design and feature improvements, BT says new TV customers can now watch via the app from the moment the order is confirmed, allowing them to enjoy their subscription even before their set top box arrives.
