Sam Mendes’ hit production of Roald Dahl’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory has had its West End run extended for a further six months.
The show had previously been booking until 31st May 2014 but will now run until at least 1st November 2014.
The cast includes Douglas Hodge as Willy Wonka, Nigel Planer as Grandpa Joe and Paul J Medford as Mr Beauregarde.
Producers, Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures, Langley Park Productions and Neal Street Productions also announced that the Official Cast Recording with music by Marc Shaiman and lyrics by Scott Wittman and Marc Shaiman is released today by Sony Music, on CD – order from Amazon.co.uk.
The album features the entire cast and includes every number from the show, including Must Be Believed to Be Seen, Simply Second Nature, Almost Nearly Perfect, as well as the Newley/Bricusse classic Pure Imagination.
