Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword is finally arriving on Macs

It’s been a long wait for we Mac users, but the Civilization IV: Beyond the Sword expansion pack is finally (almost) here.

Available for pre-order, the pack focuses on the in-game time periods following the invention of gunpowder, as well as offering 11 new scenarios, 10 new civilizations, and 16 new leaders.

Long available to Windows users, the add-on is set for release on July 20, 2009.

Also ‘new’ is the arrival of corporations which operate in a similar as to the ‘religion’game feature, and the ability to defy diplomatic resolutions.

Players can also choose from new world-types and the option to play any leader-civilization combination.

The game requires a copy of Civilization IV to play, available now in a ‘Gold Edition’ with the earlier Warlords expansion pack.
