Few movies have been as long-awaited as No Time To Die. Most viewers agree that it was worth the wait, though. And at a whopping 2 hours and 43 minutes, no one can really complain about being short-changed by the running time either. However, there has been a lack of entertainment based on it.
The franchise is well known for not being backward in marketing and merchandising itself with numerous video games to accompany the films being examples of this. In the past, there have even been a series of James Bond-themed slots games covering seven of the movie titles. However, there have been numerous other movies in the series that have yet to feature in a game. With this rich material to choose from, we’re surely ready for some new games and slots.
It would still be perfectly in keeping with most sites. You only have to look at a typical online casino in UK players’ region to see that there is a huge range of themes that link closely with movies. There are titles that riff off The Pirates of the Caribbean and others that hark back to cinematic classics like Anthony and Cleopatra. There are even some that are directly linked with movies such as The Matrix and Gladiator.
So, given the many hours that we have watched Bond strutting his stuff in casinos wearing his immaculate tuxedo, there’s a very strong logic to creating another classic slots game with his name on it.
It’s not as if there aren’t enough iconic items connected with the films not yet featured in slots games to include on the reels. For a start, there’s the classic Aston Martin DB5 that seems to have as many lives as Bond himself, which was brought back to much popular fanfare in Skyfall.
There are the countless evil geniuses that he has helped to thwart over the years from arch-nemesis Blofeld to the murderous Le Chiffre and Rami Malek’s Lyutsifer Safin – or even the former’s famous white cat. All of these could feature in the game.
Every good slot also has bonus features and this is where the action could spill out into the casino itself. Perhaps a double or nothing gamble could play out on the spin of a roulette wheel or the turn of a blackjack card.
The possibilities really are endless and, undoubtedly, the more that the games developers got into the planning, the more they would get to see. There is a large cinematic universe to use and many elements that would be instantly recognisable for Bond fans. Games are also an area that other franchises have used well to complement cinematic releases, so it’s certainly an area of opportunity and fans will be looking forward to the Project 007 title that is in development.
So with a new Bond on the way, ready to step into Daniel Craig’s shoes, this could also be time for the brand new, state-of-the-art slots game to appear. Sure, some people may think that the old slots were the only Bond ones that would even be created. But maybe it’s more of a case of “never say never again”.
