Walmington-on-Sea’s Home Guard are back in this trailer for the feature-length remake of Dad’s Army.
The original BBC sitcom ran from 1968 to 1977 and in 1971 spawned one of the better big screen adaptations of a British sitcom. This all-new outing sees a host of big names take on the roles originally made famous by Arthur Lowe, John Le Mesurier and Clive Dunn.
Toby Jones plays Lowe’s blustering bank manager turned soldier Captain George Mainwaring, alongside Bill Nighy as Sergeant Wilson and Sir Tom Courtenay as Corporal Jones. Michael Gambon also stars as Private Godfrey with Daniel Mays as Private Walker and The Inbetweeners star Blake Harrison as Private Frank Pike.
Frank Williams reprises his role as Reverend Timothy Farthing, making him the only member of the original series to appear in the film.
Dad’s Army is released in 2016
