Rumours that Apple are days away from announcing the acquisition of headphone makers Beats Electronics have prompted the usual gnashing of teeth from Apple fanbois.
This time round the faithful are unhappy with their perceived sullying of Apple’s ‘premium’ brand with the acquisition of – they say – a less worthy outfit.
And the kitchen-table CEOs all have their own views on how Apple could better spend the reported $3bn purchase price.
But history tells is the same fans getting in a lather today will happily queue for their Beats-inspired, iPod branded WiFi/4G enabled headphones which stream music from the cloud….
