ebook release for James Bond novels

November 3, 2010 - Staff@seenituk

Legendary British spy James Bond is coming to ebook format in the UK from tomorrow with publishers Ian Fleming Publications Ltd promising the books will be “priced in line with the lowest-priced Bond paperback editions available on the market.”

Ian Fleming’s original 14 books will be available from the 4th of November and the firm says Bond titles, including Charlie Higson’s bestselling Young Bond series, will follow from December.

The books will initially be available from Amazon and Waterstones.com but a spokesperson said the publishers “are working towards making them available for other channels.”

Corinne Turner, Managing Director, Ian Fleming Publications Ltd, comments: “Ian Fleming wrote his James Bond novels to be read and enjoyed by everyone, and we are always looking for opportunities to introduce new audiences to Bond’s adventures.”

Bond was previously available in ebook format in the United States to mark 2008’s Ian Fleming centenary with a special 007-branded Sony reader being released for the occasion.

Turner said Fleming “loved good, new technology, and I am sure he would have been thrilled by the idea of his books being available electronically.”

The 2008 Sebastian Faulks Bond novel Devil May Care is already available as an ebook published by Penguin.
