eBook release for ‘missing’ Doctor Who TV story

A Doctor Who TV story which had to be abandoned after a strike at the BBC is coming to eBook on 25th March.

Written by Douglas Adams, Shada was originally intended to form part of the Sci-Fi show’s 1979-80 season but the strike meant it was never completed.

The filmed footage was released on video in the 1990‘s using linking narration by Tom Baker to complete the story.

A version of the tale was also told as an animated webcast in 2003.

The Doctor’s old friend and fellow Time Lord Professor Chronotis has retired to Cambridge University – where nobody will notice if he lives for centuries.

But now he needs help from the Doctor, Romana and K-9.

When he left Gallifrey he took with him a few little souvenirs – most of them are harmless. But one of them is extremely dangerous.

The Worshipful and Ancient Law of Gallifrey isn’t a book for Time Tots. It is one of the Artefacts, dating from the dark days of Rassilon.

It must not be allowed to fall into the wrong hands. And the sinister Skagra most definitely has the wrong hands. He wants the book. He wants to discover the truth behind Shada.

And he wants the Doctor’s mind…

Written by Gareth Roberts, the novel is based on the original TV scripts by Douglas Adams.

Shada can be pre-ordered from Amazon’s Kindle store and Apple’s iBookstore.
A hardback edition is also available from Amazon.co.uk.
