Freesat users will lose access to Curzon Home Cinema from next month

Curzon Home Cinema is pulling its app from Freesat boxes at the end of next month.

The popular streaming service lets film fans rent many of the titles screening at Curzon’s cinemas, as well as a library of around 400 back catalogue films, including foreign language and independent productions.

Initially available only via browsers, the service is now available on Virgin Media and BT TV, as well via apps on smart TVs, Apple TV and Amazon’s FireTV.

However Freesat users have been told they’ll lose access from November 27th and are being urged to complete any film rentals “before 23:59 on Saturday 25th November”.

No explanation has been given for the service’s removal from the platform.
