Guardian launches new ebook range for Kindle and iBooks

British newspaper The Guardian has announced a new ebook range for the Kindle and iBooks.

The Guardian Shorts range will feature “detailed guides to topical news stories, public policy, sports and cultural events” and has launched with an account of the paper’s role in uncovering phone hacking by the News of the World.

Although some content will be drawn from the paper, the Guardian promises “each Short will contain new content, including a newly commissioned introduction or overview, a timeline of events where relevant, plus, in some cases, content from our extensive archive which goes back to the newspaper’s creation in 1821.”

Prices will range free to £3.99, with the debut title costing £2.29. The Kindle edition is available immediately and an iBooks version is promised “soon”.
