How Not to Become An Actor Of One Role

A number of movie stars were introduced in a role and assumed the character of the role they portrayed throughout their lives. A classic example is that of Sean Connery the British movie star who was cast as the Secret Service agent James Bond that made him a legend.

Dr No was the initial movie of a series directed by Ian Fleming which made Sean Connery a legend despite the fact that it locked him into a contract throughout his career. It was the charisma of Connery which won him the role from Ian Fleming and his overall acting talents were downplayed when he drove around in the Aston Martin.

Connery had a successful career even beyond the movies created by Ian Fleming but this was unfortunately not the case with countless others that were stuck with the role they portrayed and slowly but definitely faded from the scene.

They are the classic examples of how not to become an actor of one role. Who are the actors that faded from the scene after portraying a single character?

Robert Pattinson was the actor of the massive franchise of Twilight and considered it as a security blanket. He had a four-month window between every release of Twilight but decided not to move away because another movie was always forthcoming. He was always scared of failing in a big-budget movie and therefore remained as one of the actors that personified how not to become a character of a single role.

Christopher Lee was one of the actors of the first movie of count Dracula and was an integral part of the success of British studio Hammer films. Though the movie was immensely successful Lee had his struggles with the studio because he disapproved the way his character had been portrayed.

Until this day it is difficult to imagine any actor portraying the character of Dracula apart from Lee because of the tremendous portrayal by the actor.

Clint Eastwood has portrayed a number of characters on screen but his most famous remains the role of Harry Callahan in the movie Dirty Harry.

The movie had a universal appeal and the lead role of Eastwood propelled him into a police thriller, which was similar to a cowboy Western, and a horror movie. A number of arguments followed the release of the movie with people even calling it fascist, but Eastwood described Harry as a character that was good at his job.

The only line Eastwood did not mention in the movie was “check this site for free mobile casino bonus.” Apart from this particular line, the movie secured the character of Harry Callahan into Clint Eastwood.

Linda Blair was barely known when she accepted the role of Regan MacNeil in the movie The Exorcist which was released in 1973. The movie changed her entire life and in reality stole her childhood from her. Linda did make an attempt to work in other movies after her initial foray into Hollywood but she was regularly passed over when bigger roles were on offer.

These are five of the actors that inadvertently became known for the one role they portrayed and while some did have success with other movies the others just faded from the scene.
