Humax brings gaming to its Espresso media player

March 22, 2017 - Martin Hoscik@seenituk

HUMAX has added the PlayJam gaming app to its recently launched H3 Espresso Smart Media Player.

Launched late last year, the set top box provides easy access to streaming services such as Netflix, YouTube and TVPlayer, as well as Freeview channels via an optional aerial connection.

The addition of PlayJam means owners can now play more than 200 interactive titles – including Prince of Persia 2 and Reckless Getaway – from the PlayJam library, with each having fully optimised for play on the big screen.

In addition to free-of-charge games, the app also offers a selection of paid content.

Games can be controlled via a smartphone or tablet by downloading the PlayJam App from the iOS or Android appstores.

Graham North, vice president sales at HUMAX, said: “We’re thrilled to be able to bring a host of fantastic gaming content to owners of our H3 Espresso to keep the whole family entertained throughout the Easter break, Bank Holiday weekends and beyond.

“Whether playing together as a family in one room, or streaming to the kids’ bedrooms so they can keep themselves amused, PlayJam adds a new dimension to the H3 Espresso.

“With this new service, we’re boosting the choice of high quality entertainment already available to stream via the device – so there’s something for everyone available on demand, any time of day.”

Anthony Johnson, CEO at PlayJam Ltd, added: “As one of the leading global set-top box manufacturers, HUMAX is at the forefront of innovation centred around the connected living room.

“PlayJam, an established distributor of digital content, is delighted to be rolling out its next generation entertainment platform with HUMAX, providing a comprehensive range of education and gaming content at launch, with a planned roll out of OTT video services in Q2 designed to appeal to the whole family, and bridge the gap between TV and YouTube.”
