The news follows the success of the first three series which have been seen by 8.55million adults and were the channel’s highest rating commission last year.
Series 4 and 5 will air later this year, followed by a special series, Inside The Ambulance at Christmas (10×60’), in December.
Made by Brown Bob Productions, the seres uses GoPro cameras mounted inside an ambulance and on crew members to get viewers closer than ever to the work of West Midlands Ambulance Service and revealing what it’s really like to respond to emergency calls.
The new series were ordered by UKTV’s deputy director of commissioning, Hilary Rosen and genre general manager for entertainment and comedy, Steve North. Natalie Rose will executive produce for UKTV with Bridget Sneyd for Brown Bob Productions, alongside Daisy Scalchi as series producer.
