Sky has added ITV’s portfolio of channels to its Sky Go mobile TV service and says ITV Encore, the broadcaster’s new drama channel, will also be available from June 9th.
The channel, which will feature a mix of new shows and repeats, is exclusive to Sky TV customers for its first 12 months but is expected to join rival platforms from next year.
Sky Go users will also be able to catch-up on missed episodes or choose from a library of ITV drama box sets with more ITV demand content joining the service later in 2014.
The addition of the ITV channels brings the total number available to 63 channels.
Luke Bradley-Jones, Sky’s Brand Director of TV Products, commented: “We are really excited to offer ITV channels on Sky Go as we know there can be a fight for the remote when a big summer of sport kicks off.
“Whether people want to catch the football – or take refuge from it – this gives our customers even more flexibility to enjoy the TV they love, on their terms.”
Martin Goswami, ITV’s Director of Pay & Distribution, added: “Allowing viewers to access our shows across a range of platforms and devices, both at home and on the move, is a key part of our strategy. We’re delighted to offer Sky customers the chance to never miss their favourite ITV shows on Sky Go.”
