Kobo adds friends to iPad app

June 24, 2011 - Staff@seenituk

Kobo's has updated its iPad app
ebook retailer Kobo has updated its app for Apple’s iPhone and iPad to include a new ‘friends’ feature in its Reading Life social networking platform.

The new feature allows app users to see what titles their friends have read and ask for book recommendations.

They can also compare their Reading Life ‘awards’ which are given for reaching certain landmarks while reading.

Other new features include the ability to navigate their library shelves by swiping left to right with one finger and the use of a two-fingered swipe to open and close the library edit menu.

“With Reading Life, we continue to build features to enable more social interaction between Kobo readers and their social networks,” said Michael Serbinis, CEO, Kobo.

“Our goal is to engage readers and inspire them to share the fun of reading, and our latest iOS app does just that – bringing additional ways to connect and enjoy reading with friends and family both near and far.”

The updated app is available to download from the App Store
