Kobo strikes deal to sell readers though local booksellers

Kobo has secured a deal to sell its eReaders through nearly 2,000 independent stores throughout the U.S.

The Canadian-based retailer has struck a deal with the American Booksellers Association (ABA) to bring its eBook store and readers independent bookstores.

The agreement replaces a similar deal between ABA members and Google Books.

In a statement Kobo said: “We are very excited to work closely with the ABA, a partner who shares many of our core values including the love of reading!”
