Lee Mack’s Not Going Out to return for an eighth series

not_going_out_1200Lee Mack and Sally Breton are to return in a new series of hit sitcom Not Going Out, BBC bosses confirmed today.

Many by Avalon Television, the new run follows on from last year’s hugely popular Christmas Special which saw recently married Lee and Lucy have their first child.

Now the couple will return to the screen as parents with three young children what could possibly go wrong…?

The seres, BBC One’s longest continually running comedy, also sees the return of Hugh Dennis and Abigail Cruttenden as Toby and Anna and Bobby Ball as Lee’s lovably-inept father.

Producers also promoting the return of “many popular cast members” who’ll help Lee and Lucy though their new life journey.

Shane Allen, BBC Controller of Comedy Commissioning, said: “Not Going Out is on its way to modern classic status as it clocks up another richly gag-packed and comic incident-heavy series.

“The jump forward introduction of their kids provides Lee and Lucy with a new family domestic setting and springboard to broaden out their world from a ‘will they, won’t they?’ dynamic to the ‘why the hell have we?’ that comes with parenting.”

Avalon Television MD Jon Thoday added: “I am delighted this brilliantly funny show by Lee Mack will continue and we all really appreciate the fantastic support from the BBC.”

The new episodes will air in 2017.
