US network ABC has ordered a second series of the Avengers spin-off series, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

The show links in with the Marvel’s Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and Avengers films and stars Greg Clark as S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Phil Coulson.

In the UK the first series is nearing its end on Channel 4 with a plot which ties into the Captain America: The Winter Soldier film.

ABC has also ordered a second spin-off called Agent Carter which follows the story of secret agent Peggy Carter, seen in the first Captain America film.

The series will be shown during when Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. is off-air.
