Michael Vaughan, Ricky Ponting and Geoffrey Boycott confirmed for BT Sport’s Ashes line-up

October 19, 2017 - Staff@seenituk

BT Sport has confirmed an all-star commentary line-up, including Michael Vaughan, Ricky Ponting, Geoffrey Boycott and Adam Gilchrist, for its exclusive Ashes coverage.

The first of the five Test Matches starts on 23 November at The Gabba in Brisbane followed by the first ever Ashes Day Night Test match, which will take place at the Adelaide Oval.

The series then moves on to the WACA in Perth before the Boxing Day Test at the MCG in Melbourne and then the fifth and final match in Sydney at the SCG in early January.

BT says its channels will show “every minute” of the live action plus a daily 90 minute highlights programme. Highlights will also be available for free every evening from 7pm on btsport.com and on the BT Sport App.

The coverage will be presented by BT Sport’s Matt Smith.

BT Sport will also show the Women’s Ashes Series starting on Sunday 22 October with three One-Day Internationals, the first ever women’s Day Night Test at the North Sydney Oval and three Twenty20 matches.

The broadcaster secured the rights to the Ashes as part of its multi-year deal with Cricket Australia which also makes it the exclusive UK broadcaster of all Test Matches, One-Day Internationals and T20 Internationals played in Australia, plus the Big Bash League and Women’s Big Bash League.

Simon Green, head of BT Sport, said: “This is an action packed and exciting winter for BT Sport with a vast amount of live sport to show, including the biggest event in the cricket calendar, the Ashes.

“Our viewers will enjoy the analysis of both English and Australian cricket legends all of who have played in the Ashes and who will be following events as they unfold in Australia.”
