Microsoft says Xbox One outselling Xbox 360 at same stage in life

March 14, 2014 - Staff@seenituk

Xbox_oneMicrosoft says the new Xbox One is selling better than its predecessor, the Xbox 360, did at the same stage in its life.

The gaming giant has seen its new console outsold by as many as 2 to 1 by rival Sony’s Playstation 4.

However the firm says the US shoppers bought 258,000 consoles last month, a 61 percent increase in the number of Xbox 360’s sold at the same point in time.

However the cheaper Xbox 360 continues to be a big seller with 114,000 units bought last month in the US alone.

Sales of the previous generation model are being helped by the continuing availability of new, big name games such as Call of Duty: Ghosts and Titanfall.

However gamers who upgrade to the Xbox One will be unable to play their existing games on the new machine as the next generation console is incompatible with games for the Xbox 360.
