Film & TV streaming service Netflix has confirmed that a recently announced price hike will not affect existing customers for 2 years.
Last month the service announced prices would increase from £5.99 to £6.99 for new members, a rise the firm says will allow it to “continue adding more films and TV programmes”.
At the time it said existing customers would be protected from the increase for a “generous” period.
In an email to users Netflix has now confirmed that period will be two years.
The email states: “In order to continue adding more films and TV programmes, we are increasing our price from £5.99 to £6.99 for new members. As a thank you for being a member of Netflix already, we guarantee that your plan and price will not change for two years.”
