New Star Wars iPad app allows fans to make their own movies

Star_Wars_scene_makerDisney has released a new Star Wars app for iPad which allows fans to create and share their own 3D animated Star Wars scenes.

The Star Wars Scene Maker app uses “simple, intuitive commands” to enable users to re-imagine and re-create iconic scenes from the Saga, including The Battle of Endor and Cloud City Duel.

Users have the freedom to place characters and vehicles wherever they choose, and customise the action with new storylines and dialogue, all set to the franchise’s iconic music.

In addition, they can share their movies online.

The free app includes The Battle of Endor for free and other scenes, including the Cloud City Duel and Death Star Trench Run are available to buy as in-app purchases.

“At Disney Publishing, we are committed to reaching today’s consumers in deeper, more engaging ways through innovative and immersive storytelling experiences,” said Andrew Sugerman, executive vice president, Disney Publishing Worldwide.

“Star Wars Scene Maker allows us to put kids and fans of all ages in the director’s seat and provide them with ways to unleash their creativity and share their passion for the Star Wars brand in a new way.”
