Nintendo has announced a cut-down, cheaper version of its 3DS games console.
The Nintendo 2DS goes on sale in October and the company says it will play all Nintendo 3DS packaged and downloadable games, just without the 3D effects.
Dropping the clamshell case of its big brother, the new model features what Nintendo describes as a “distinctive fixed, slate-type form factor”.
Optional carrying cases will be available in Red or Blue at launch to help spruce things up.
